![]() Still getting flattened by the wicked sisters in the gold armor. ![]() Guess I just need to get good because - yea. (eg: Hunter/Ninja= High AOE, Mummy/Champion/Skeleton Sword = High damage) If you intend on using these skulls then make sure to use a second skull that can cover your weakness. *Some Skulls have high AOE and low damage, others have high damage but low range. *Vampire fang, Naias's Heart, Gold Incense Burner, and Abyssal Virus are all incredibly useful if found early on. *If you are not using your second skull, try to make sure you have a common skull in that slot so you can trade it for something worth more bones at the store. *Take skull rooms whenever possible until you have enough bones for at least 1 legendary Skull. *Gold doors are better than Item doors in most situations. *Tough foes often have long wind ups and audio tells before they attack. *Get as many damage boosting items as you can. *Smaller foes can be stun locked simply by attacking them so you can focus your attention toward dodging the tougher enemies. *Always take/keep Warriors Pauldron unless you can one-shot most enemies. *Dash toward attacks instead of away unless they are a big AOE surrounding the enemy. If, by then you haven't gotten a legendary skull then I recommend you focus on building your item collection until you do. I recommend trying the tree skull (Int?) or a heavy hitting skull to defeat the tree monster and that should help you decently until level 3. Last but not least, the upgrades really do help (although they don't seem like it) so look out for NPCS you can free. Eventually, all those hits, will cause you to fail. There are very few instances where this won't hold up as true. Why?īecause this is a battle of attrition and damage you take will cost you no matter what usually. If you can invest the time to learn their sequences and avoid damage, you will have more leeway.Īs a matter of fact, you should play the entire game with the mindset that getting hit, even once, will cause you to fail. Thus, its' much more beneficial to keep my attack power high. The reason for this is because I'm not great at dodging, so my goal is to kill the enemy before they kill me. ![]() I find trying to build balance doesn't work too well so I either choose defense or attack, mostly attack. For example, if you favor attack, always prioritize items that will make your attack stronger, more deadly or more wide ranged. Secondly, acquire items that push you towards a certain apex. ![]() From that point on, just focus on building those strengths. Find a skull you like playing with and from that point on, scrap the rest until you find a second skull you like. I've never beat this game either, but I've managed to reach the end boss several times.įocus on improving your skulls early and quickly. The update coming soon should hopefully make picking items much easier as well! If you're struggling, try taking some of the very good defensive items in the game if you see them - Dark Priest Robe, Warrior's Pauldrons, Knight's Determination and Priest's Staff can extend your life quite a bit. It's difficult to upgrade two skulls to legendary by the end of a run anyways. Getting skulls to unique is very powerful, giving you a second attack skill to work with, and swapping is generally a very good thing to do, giving buffs and additional attacks, so keeping them even is good, though there's no rush for this either - you might find a unique/legendary skull you'd like to take with you. That said, skull/item rooms > money rooms typically ![]() Instead of a set rule of "always pick this room", it's okay to be flexible, and it's okay if it's not clear what you're building for right off the bat, it might be a lucky skull or item drop that leans you one way or another. ![]()
